What is WorkForceX?
WorkForceX is an enterprise HR platform from AtashiTech built around three things large organisations get wrong at scale: recording working time accurately, distributing work fairly across teams, and getting decisions approved without them stalling in somebody's inbox. Around that core it provides leave and attendance, payroll with Indian statutory compliance, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and people analytics.
It is delivered as a web application with iOS and Android apps, signs users in through Azure AD single sign-on, and can be fronted by an employee self-service kiosk for staff who have no company laptop or email address. The stack is .NET 10, React, PostgreSQL and Redis. WorkForceX is aimed at enterprises that need accuracy, compliance and scale from their HR system, not at a start-up looking for a lightweight directory.
Where an enterprise HR platform pays for itself
WorkForceX is designed for organisations where HR processes cross many sites, shifts and reporting lines, and where the cost of an inaccurate timesheet or a late approval is paid in money and in trust.
Multi-site enterprises
A head office, several plants and a branch network usually mean several ways of recording attendance and several interpretations of the leave policy. WorkForceX holds one policy set with local rosters underneath it, and approvals can cross entities without a request being re-raised in a different system.
Shift-based and hourly workforces
Manufacturing, hospitals and retail pay by the hour and by the shift. Attendance comes in from biometric devices, the mobile app or the self-service kiosk, overtime is computed against the roster, and the result flows into payroll without a supervisor re-keying it.
Project and service organisations
Where time is billable, the timesheet is a financial document. WorkForceX records time by project, shows managers who is overloaded and who has capacity, and routes timesheets and leave through the same multi-stage approval engine so nothing is invoiced on an unapproved hour.
How the enterprise HR platform works
Four stages, in the order they happen in a real month. Each one writes to the same employee record, which is why payroll at the end of the month does not need a reconciliation exercise at the start of the next.
Capture time and attendance
Employees clock in through a biometric device, the mobile app or an ESS kiosk on the shop floor. Shift rosters define what was expected, so late arrivals, missed punches and overtime are identified as they occur rather than at month end.
Balance the workload
Managers see the load across their teams and reassign work before someone burns out or sits idle. The workload view flags people who are consistently over or under capacity, using the same time data captured in the previous step.
Route the approvals
Leave, attendance corrections, timesheets, hiring requests and offers pass through a configurable multi-stage approval engine, with rules for who approves what at each stage. The requester can see where a request is sitting and with whom.
Run payroll and report
Approved time and leave feed payroll, with TDS, PF, ESI and professional tax applied and payslips and Form 16 generated. Analytics run over the same data: attrition signals, cost per hire, leave utilisation and workforce planning.
Core modules
The modules below are part of the standard platform. They are listed in the order most enterprises adopt them, starting with the three the product is built around.
Time tracking and attendance
Precise capture from biometric devices, the mobile app and the ESS kiosk, against configurable shift rosters, with overtime calculated automatically and fed to payroll.
Workload balancing
A live view of allocation across teams that makes overloaded and under-used people visible, so managers redistribute work on evidence rather than on who complained last.
Multi-stage approval engine
Configurable approval chains for leave, corrections, timesheets, requisitions and offers, with each stage's approver defined by role, entity or reporting line.
Leave management
Leave policies by entity and grade, balances, holiday calendars and the approval workflow, integrated directly with attendance and payroll.
Payroll and statutory compliance
Payroll for India with TDS, PF, ESI and professional tax, plus global entities and contractors from one screen, with payslips, Form 16 and statutory filing reminders generated automatically.
Recruitment and onboarding
Job-board posting, a visual applicant pipeline, candidate scoring and offer letters, then day-one checklists, document collection, IT provisioning requests and buddy assignment for the new hire.
Performance management
Continuous feedback, OKR alignment, multi-rater reviews and calibration tools for appraisal cycles that are fair and defensible.
People analytics
Attrition signals, diversity metrics, cost-per-hire dashboards and workforce planning models built from the platform's own time, leave and payroll data.
Platform, integrations and deployment
WorkForceX runs on .NET 10 and PostgreSQL with Redis for caching, and its web client is built in React. Users sign in with their existing Azure AD identity, which is usually the condition an enterprise IT team sets before any HR system is allowed near payroll data. The mobile apps for iOS and Android carry attendance, leave and approvals; a progressive web app covers browsers on shared devices.
For staff without a desk, the platform is fronted by our employee self-service kiosk software: a ruggedised touch screen with biometric login on the shop floor or in the lobby, from which an employee can download a payslip, apply for leave or raise an attendance correction. The application is packaged for container deployment; the hosting environment is agreed per engagement and set up by our cloud, DevOps and integration team.
Industries
The platform is industry-neutral, but the way it is configured is not. These are the sectors it is most often set up for, and the kiosk solutions and products that tend to sit alongside it.
Manufacturing
Three-shift rosters, biometric attendance at the gate and a large workforce with no email. The ESS kiosk on the floor is what makes self-service real rather than a policy on paper.
Construction and infrastructure
Workforces spread across sites with contractors mixed in. A contractor induction and site access kiosk controls who enters; WorkForceX manages the hours and approvals of the people who do.
Healthcare
Nursing rosters, overtime rules and leave policies that differ by cadre, with payroll that has to be right every month for a workforce that notices when it is not.
IT and professional services
Time by project, workload across delivery teams and timesheet approval before billing, with recruitment and onboarding volumes that make the applicant pipeline worth having.
Retail and hospitality
Store and outlet rosters, high staff turnover and a head office that needs a consistent policy applied across hundreds of small teams.
Logistics
Drivers and depot staff whose hours are governed by shift limits. Operators that run their routes in FleetFlow can manage the same drivers' time, leave and payroll here.
Implementation, customisation and support
An implementation starts with the organisation chart, the policy set and the current payroll register. We map approval chains onto the reporting lines, configure rosters and leave policies per entity, connect attendance devices and the identity provider, and migrate employee master data from the existing HRMS or spreadsheets. Payroll is run in parallel with the existing process for at least one cycle before it is switched over, because that is the one module where a surprise is expensive. Where the ESS kiosk is part of the scope, it is rolled out site by site with the local HR contact.
AtashiTech develops WorkForceX, so customisation is a matter of scope rather than of what a vendor will allow. An approval rule that depends on grade and cost centre, a roster pattern unique to one plant, a report a works council asks for or an integration with a finance system can be built into the platform. Screen design for a company-specific employee portal is handled by our UI/UX design team, and the mobile apps are maintained by our Android and iOS app development practice.
After go-live the platform runs under an annual maintenance contract covering support, statutory updates, monitoring and a named contact for change requests; details are on the Software Consulting and AMC Support page. Engagements are scoped and quoted individually on headcount, entities, modules and integrations; we publish no list prices. Articles on shop-floor self-service and HR kiosks are on the AtashiTech blog. For recognition and rewards on top of the employee record, see RewardIQ.
