What is queue management software?
Queue management software turns a crowd at a counter into an ordered, visible sequence. A customer takes a token for the service they need, on their own phone or at a token kiosk by the door, and from that point the software holds their place. Staff call the next token with one tap, a screen on the wall shows who is being served at which counter, and the customer's phone tells them when it is their turn, so they can wait in the car or the café next door instead of standing in line. At the end of the day the manager can see how long people waited, which hours were busiest and how many left without being served.
AtashiTech's queue management software is a subscription product for walk-in clinics, pharmacies, labs, service counters and branch offices. It runs as phone pages the customer opens from a QR poster with nothing to install, a token kiosk on an Android tablet or any browser, a staff screen on a tablet or a PC, a now-serving board on any television, and a web portal for setup and reports. A queue you cannot see is a queue you cannot manage
Most venues do not lack staff for the average hour. They lack any way of matching staff to the hour that actually arrives.
The old way
People take a numbered paper ticket, or they do not, and the receptionist keeps the order in her head between phone calls. Customers stand in a line that is really three lines: people who need two minutes, people who need twenty, and people who are in the wrong line altogether. Someone steps outside for air and loses their place. A customer who has waited forty minutes asks how much longer and the honest answer is a guess. Priority for an elderly customer becomes an argument in front of everyone else.
The cost is not only patience. Staff spend part of every transaction managing the line instead of serving it, and at the end of the month there is no record of how long people waited or which service consumed the counters, so the next month is staffed the same way as the last one. The systems that fix this were built for hospitals and banks, and priced and installed accordingly.
The better way
Queue management software separates arrival from service. The customer joins in seconds from a QR poster or the tablet at the door, chooses a service and gets a token. Their phone shows the token, the number now being served and how many are ahead, and chimes when they are next. Staff see the whole queue, call by service, mark no-shows and transfer a customer from consultation to billing without a new ticket. The board shows what is being served. The reports show waits, volumes and busy hours, so staffing can follow the pattern instead of the complaints.
From the door to the counter in four steps
Join
Scan the QR poster, tap the token kiosk at the door, or let reception add you. Choose a service such as Consultation, Blood test or Pharmacy, enter a name and a phone number, and receive a token like A-018. Customers without a phone take their token on the kiosk and can have it printed.
Wait anywhere
The phone page shows the token, the number now being served, how many are ahead and an estimated wait. It chimes and vibrates when you are next and turns green with the counter number when you are called. Closed the page? Type the token into the venue's page to see it again.
Call next
Staff sign in to a counter on a tablet or in a browser and press Call next, Recall, No show, Done or Transfer. Priority flags move elderly, disabled or urgent customers up the lane, and a chime sounds when a new token joins.
Now serving
Any television or monitor shows "Now serving A-018, counter 2" with the next tokens, a chime and an optional spoken announcement. Open the board link in the TV's browser, or run it in the Android app on a TV box.
Four screens, one live queue
Every screen is a page that updates live from the same queue, so a token called at counter 2 appears on the board and the customer's phone at the same moment.
Token kiosk at the door
A large-text, one-screen join flow on an Android tablet or iPad, or in any browser on a touch screen or PC. It has a path for customers who have no phone and an option to flag priority such as elderly visitors. Tickets print through the tablet's print service on the venue's printer, in an 80 mm slip layout suited to thermal ticket printers. On Android, the kiosk can be pinned so customers cannot leave the app.
Customer's own phone
A QR poster per venue or per service opens the join page in the phone's browser on iPhone or Android, with no app and no account. The live status page can stay in the background with an optional free browser notification, and a lookup box on the venue's page finds today's token again without ever showing anyone's name.
Staff screen
In a browser or in the Android or iPad app, each counter sees its queue with waiting counts and the oldest wait in view: call next, recall, no show, done, transfer, add a walk-in and pause the counter. A staff member can print a slip for a customer added at the desk.
Now-serving board
Any Android TV, TV box, smart TV with a browser or PC behind a monitor. The board rotates for sideways screens, plays a chime and can speak the token, and keeps showing the last state if the network drops.
Device management
Tablets and TV boxes pair with a code from the portal and report a heartbeat every minute. Changing what a device shows, from kiosk to board or staff screen, or restarting it, applies from the portal within a minute.
What is included
QR join, no app
A printable poster per venue or per service. The customer's own phone browser does the rest.
Services, lanes and counters
Define services and counters; one counter can serve several services. Tokens carry a prefix per service and restart at the venue's own midnight.
Staff screen
Call next, recall, no show, done, transfer, add walk-in and pause counter, in a browser or the app.
Live phone page
Position, estimated wait, a chime and vibration when next, a green screen when called, and optional browser notifications.
Now-serving board
On any television, with chime, optional spoken token and the next numbers in view.
Printed tickets
80 mm ticket slips from the kiosk and the staff screen through the device's print service.
Priority and transfer
Priority flags per venue, and transfer between services so one visit stays one record from consultation to billing.
Opening hours
The queue opens and closes with the venue's hours and shows a message outside them.
Token lookup
Find today's token on the venue's page without seeing anyone's name.
Reports
Tickets per day, hour, service and counter; average and longest wait; service time; no-show rate; busiest hours; CSV export for Excel.
Short retention
Name, phone and a reason category only. Personal fields are deleted a set number of hours after the visit; statistics stay.
Several venues
Each venue has its own services, counters, staff, hours and branding, managed from one login on the multi-venue plan.
Runs on what the venue already has
Customers use their phones. Staff use a tablet or a browser. The board is any television.
A Windows PC at the door simply opens the kiosk link in its browser; there is no separate Windows application. The iPad app is the same product and is installed for paying customers during onboarding, because Apple distributes business apps through a developer account set up per deployment.
Built to hold as little as possible
A queue at a clinic reveals that someone was at a clinic, so the product is designed around the minimum. It asks for a name, a phone number and a reason category chosen from a list the venue defines; it never asks for symptoms, dates of birth or identity numbers. A privacy notice is shown before the join form. Personal fields are deleted automatically a set number of hours after the visit, leaving only counts and times for the reports, and the lookup page never shows a name. Venues can export or erase a visitor's data on request, and a data-processing agreement can be arranged during onboarding.
Anywhere people wait their turn
Walk-in and dental clinics
Consultation, follow-up and billing lanes, with elderly patients prioritised and the board calling tokens, not names.
Pharmacies and labs
Drop off a prescription or a sample, wait in the car, come back when the phone says so.
Banks and telecom shops
Token counters by service, with reports on which hour needs another desk.
Government service centres
Multi-service queues and large now-serving boards, with local-language screens built as customised versions.
Repair and service desks
Device repair and returns counters where customers would rather browse than stand in line.
Restaurant waiting lists
A table queue on the guest's phone, then restaurant ordering once they are seated.
Clinics that also register and screen patients on arrival use our patient registration kiosk; offices that badge visitors before they reach the waiting area use our visitor management software; and branches that take payments at the counter can move them to a bill payment kiosk.
From trial request to first token
Send the trial form on this page. We set up your account and email you the login, usually within one business day. You sign in to a sample venue with services and counters ready to rename, print the QR poster, pair an Android tablet or open the browser kiosk, and point a television at the board link. The trial covers one venue for 14 days. When it ends, choose a plan to keep issuing tokens; nothing is deleted in the meantime.
If the connection drops, the staff screen keeps the last queue state and holds staff actions for a few minutes until it syncs, and the board keeps showing the last state.
Need it shaped to your organisation?
The subscription covers the common walk-in journey. Larger or regulated organisations usually need more.
SMS or WhatsApp token alerts, appointment check-in alongside walk-ins, integration with a practice-management, hospital or banking system so the counter opens the customer's record, multi-branch dashboards, right-to-left and local-language screens, feedback after the visit, or a board in your own design: those are customised versions of the same product, scoped to your requirement by our web application and integration teams. Tell us what is different about your venue and we will come back with a scope, not a sales pitch.
