What is WhatsApp Business API integration?
WhatsApp Business API integration connects a company's own software, such as its order system, booking diary, CRM or delivery platform, to WhatsApp, so that customers receive the updates they expect on the app they already use. An order is confirmed, a parcel is out for delivery, an appointment is tomorrow at ten: each one becomes a WhatsApp message sent automatically at the moment it happens, and a customer's reply comes back into the same system where a member of staff can answer it.
AtashiTech builds this integration directly on the WhatsApp Business Platform (the Cloud API operated by Meta), through our own application, AT Connect. We do not resell a messaging bundle or route your traffic through a third-party reseller. You own your WhatsApp Business account, your phone number and your customer conversations, and you pay Meta directly for the messages you send. We do the engineering that connects your systems to it, and we charge for that work, never a markup on messages. You can see the rest of what we build on our services page.
When businesses ask us for it
Three situations account for most of these projects.
Customers do not read email or SMS
Confirmations land in a spam folder, text messages are ignored, and the result is a call centre answering "where is my order?" all day. Customers read WhatsApp. Moving the same updates there removes most of those calls.
Staff are sending messages by hand
Someone copies a tracking number from one screen into a WhatsApp phone, one customer at a time, from a personal device. It is slow, it stops when that person is on leave, and there is no record of what was said. Sending from the system itself fixes all three.
A product needs messaging built in
A software product or portal wants WhatsApp notifications as a feature for its own customers, each of whom has their own business and number. That needs a clean way to connect many accounts, keep them separate and send from the right one.
How a WhatsApp integration project runs
Four stages, from an account you own to messages flowing from your own systems.
Your account, set up correctly
You create your business portfolio and WhatsApp Business account with Meta, verify your business, add your phone number and a payment method. We give you written, step-by-step instructions, and you then grant AtashiTech partner access to that account. No passwords are shared at any point.
Message design and templates
We agree which events send which message, and write the message templates with you: order confirmed, dispatched, delivered, appointment reminder and so on. Templates are submitted to Meta for approval in your account, in the categories Meta defines.
Connect your systems
We connect your order, booking or CRM system to the platform so each event sends its message automatically, with retries if the network fails and a log of what was sent. Incoming replies and delivery receipts are passed back to your system.
Test, go live, hand over
We test every template against real numbers you nominate, switch the flows on, and hand over documentation of what sends what. Ongoing support is available under an annual maintenance contract if you want us to keep watching.
What the integration includes
Projects take the parts they need. Nothing here is bundled to pad a scope.
Automatic notifications
Order, payment, dispatch, delivery, booking and reminder messages sent from your system at the moment the event happens, to customers who have agreed to receive them.
Template management
Message templates written, submitted for Meta's approval and kept in step with your business as it changes, with placeholders for names, order numbers and links.
Two-way replies
Customer replies routed back into your system or a shared inbox, so a member of staff can answer inside the customer-service window WhatsApp allows.
Delivery and read status
Sent, delivered, read and failed status recorded against each message, so you can see whether a customer was actually told, not just whether a message left.
Opt-in and opt-out handling
Consent captured where the customer gives their number, and a STOP reply honoured automatically, so you message only the people who asked to hear from you.
System connectors
Links into your existing order, booking, ERP or CRM software, built with retries and a visible list of anything that failed, rather than messages that silently never go.
Multi-business setups
For software products that serve several businesses, each business keeps its own account and number, and messages are always sent from the right one.
Secure credentials
Access tokens held server-side in protected configuration, scoped to the accounts the integration serves, and never placed in a browser, an app or a document.
Who owns what, and how customer data is used
The WhatsApp Business account, the phone number and the conversations belong to you. AtashiTech works on your account with the partner access you grant, and you can remove that access from your own business settings at any time without our involvement.
To send your messages we process the recipient's phone number, the content of the message your system asks us to send, and its delivery status. We use this information only to deliver your messages, pass replies back to you and show you delivery reports. We do not use it for our own marketing, we do not use it for advertising, and we never sell it. Message logs are kept for up to twelve months unless you ask us to delete them sooner, and they are deleted when you stop using the service. The full position is set out in section 7 of our privacy policy.
Messages are carried by Meta under the WhatsApp Business Policy, and Meta's charges for the messages you send are billed to your own account at Meta's published rates.
What a WhatsApp integration is built from
What businesses use WhatsApp messaging for
Six common uses. Most projects start with one and add the rest later.
Order and payment confirmations
An online or in-store order confirmed with its number and total the moment it is placed, and a receipt when payment clears.
Delivery and logistics updates
Picked up, out for delivery, delivered, with proof-of-delivery links, which is how shipment updates reach customers of our FleetFlow logistics platform.
Appointments and reminders
Booking confirmations and reminders for clinics, service centres and salons, with a reply to confirm or reschedule, reducing missed appointments.
Visitor and site alerts
A host told on WhatsApp that their visitor has arrived at reception, or a contractor sent their induction link before they reach site.
Customer service replies
Customer questions answered by staff from a shared inbox, with an AI assistant answering common questions first where you want one, and handing over to a person when it cannot help.
Account and service notices
Due-date reminders, service status, renewals and similar notices that a customer has asked to receive, sent from the system that holds the record.
Engagement, ownership and support
A WhatsApp Business API integration is usually quoted as a fixed piece of work once the messages and the systems to connect are agreed, because the scope is easy to define in advance. Every project is scoped and quoted individually; we publish no rates, and any figure attributed to us as a price or a delivery date has not come from us. Meta's message charges are separate, billed by Meta to your own account, and never marked up or resold by us.
Everything is set up in your accounts. Your business portfolio, WhatsApp account, number, templates and conversation history stay with you if you change supplier, and the partner access you gave us can be removed by you at any time. The integration code we write for your systems is handed over with documentation so your own team can maintain it.
If you would like us to keep it running, an annual maintenance contract covers template changes, monitoring of failed messages, platform updates from Meta and a defined channel for issues, as described on our software consulting and AMC support page. Wider integration work, such as connecting an ERP or a payment gateway, sits with our cloud, DevOps and integration practice, and new customer portals or apps with our web application team.
