The guest chooses dine-in or takeaway, taps through categories with large images, builds combos with modifiers, is offered an upsell at the right moment, pays by cash, card or UPI and collects a printed token. The lunch rush without the internet

Menu, images, prices and modifiers are cached on the kiosk, and the kitchen display sits on the same local network, so ordering and cooking continue when the broadband fails. Cash keeps working. Card and UPI need a connection, so the payment screen has to disable them honestly for the duration instead of spinning. The Windows kiosk EXE is installed on the PC inside, locked down so guests cannot leave the application, restarted by a watchdog if it ever stops, and updated through an installer the operator controls.
