Store-floor and concourse journeys
Retailers tend to start with checkout because it is where the queue is longest; mall operators tend to start with the directory because it is what tenants ask for.
Self-checkout lanes
The shopper scans barcodes, the integrated scale validates the weight of what went into the bag, and payment is taken by cash, card, UPI or wallet with a receipt printed at the lane. Age-restricted items pause the transaction for an attendant, and loyalty cards and coupons are applied before the total. All of this is the self-checkout kiosk software.
Endless aisle and product finder
A shopper who cannot find a size, a colour or a model on the shelf checks it on a screen, sees which store or warehouse has it, and orders it for delivery or collection. AtashiTech builds this as a custom kiosk front end on the NexCommerce catalogue and order engine, or on the retailer's existing commerce platform through its API.
Mall directory and wayfinding
A concourse directory that lists tenants by category, shows offers and draws a route from the kiosk to the store is a custom build under the kiosk application development service, with the same content feeding the large signage screens built under the Android TV and signage service.
Service-desk and returns tokens
Returns, exchanges, alterations and warranty claims form a queue that upsets shoppers more than the checkout does. A token from the queue management kiosk lets them keep browsing until a display or an SMS calls them back to the desk.
Loyalty enrolment and promotions
Sign-up for a loyalty programme, redemption of points, gift-card balance checks and promo-code entry are small journeys that keep shoppers off the customer-service desk. Redemption is part of the self-checkout software; enrolment screens are scoped as a custom addition.
Food-court ordering

Weekend footfall, festival sales and a store link that drops at the worst moment are the conditions the software is judged against.
Checkout when the store link drops
The item master, prices and promotions are cached on the lane, so scanning and totalling continue without the head-office connection. Cash lanes keep trading through an outage. Card and UPI settlement need connectivity, and the software has to say so on the payment screen rather than time out after the shopper has chosen. Completed transactions queue locally and post to the POS once the link is back, each one exactly once, so the day's sales report does not double count. This offline-first behaviour is standard in AtashiTech's kiosk applications.

Systems on the other end
The POS is the system of record for sales, the inventory system for stock, the price master for what an item costs today, the loyalty or CRM platform for points, and the payment gateway for settlement. A mall adds a tenant directory and a promotions calendar. Retail chains often run several of these from different vendors, and the kiosk has to keep them consistent: a price changed at head office at noon must reach every lane before the next scan. Receipts, restricted items and accessibility
Receipts printed at a self-checkout must carry the tax details a GST invoice requires, which means the kiosk has to know HSN codes and tax rates per item rather than a flat total. Card data stays inside the payment terminal so the kiosk application stays out of the sensitive part of PCI scope. Alcohol, tobacco and pharmacy items need an attendant approval step that cannot be skipped. Accessibility means reach-friendly button placement, large type, audio guidance, and a language switch on the first screen; the touch-first design work comes from the UI/UX design service.
Lane unit, atrium pedestal or wall directory
Retail kiosk software from AtashiTech is enclosure-agnostic: a self-checkout lane unit with a bagging scale, a floor-standing pedestal in the atrium, a wall-mounted directory at the escalator, or a counter-top tablet for assisted selling. The retailer chooses the hardware vendor and the form factor; AtashiTech installs a Windows kiosk EXE on the PC inside, with the operating system locked down, a watchdog that restarts the application if it stops, and an installer the IT team can deploy across stores.
A chain wants to change a promotion once and see it on every screen, and to know a receipt printer is empty before the lane closes itself. The central kiosk management platform pushes content overnight, monitors uptime and paper, and alerts on faults across all stores. After launch, updates and fixes run under an annual maintenance contract from the consulting and AMC service.
