Each journey below maps to a packaged piece of hospital kiosk software. Most hospitals begin with registration and tokens and add the rest as the front desk quietens down.

Self-registration and appointment check-in

A new patient scans an Aadhaar QR or another identity document and the kiosk fills in demographics for confirmation; a returning patient enters a mobile number or scans the appointment QR from the hospital app. Arrival is marked in the HIS and the patient moves on with a token instead of waiting for a registration clerk. Running through a network outage

The HIS link, the internet connection and the hospital LAN all fail at some point, usually during the busiest hour of the morning.
